Student Clubs

Soundarya Composite PU College strongly believes and promotes creative programming and growth through educational activities outside the classroom. In tune with our philosophy, a BUSINESS CLUB, SCIENCE FORUM, CRAZY CLUB, PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB, TOASTMASTERS CLAB, CULTURAL CLUB, and SPORTS CLUB have been established. Student members belonging to these clubs in association with faculty organize many activities throughout the year such as SEMINARS, GUEST LECTURES, DEBATES, etc., Such group activities foster personal growth and social competency among students.

Cultural Fest

Annual cultural competitions provide an ideal forum for students to showcase their creative talents in fine arts, dramatics, music and dance. Talent, once spotted is properly nurtured and enough opportunities are provided to compete at higher levels.

Community Services

Nearly 1600 students faculty and staff participated in many volunteers and community service programs. Community service at soundarya is coordinated by NCC (National Cadet Corps), NSS (National Service Scheme) and NGS (National Green Corps)

Social Service Avenues

Students and staff of Soundarya Composite Pre-University College takes immense pride in undertaking community development projects. Many guest lecturers that promote social awareness are organized to infuse a sense of community welfare. Rallies are organized to promote social awareness on important issues like Road safety, Environmental issues etc.

Raise your voice not the sea level
To mark the occasion of the World Environmental Day, our college organises a procession in association with BBMP to create awareness among the public to maintain hygiene in their surroundings. To commemorate the procession, plants were sappled in the presence of Saalumarada Thimmakka, a noted environmentalist from our state.

Sports

We recognize the importance of a broad range of physical and emotional outlets to a well balanced college experience. Students are encouraged to participate in games and sports. Expansion of athletic facilities will be given top priority in the coming years. Students are coached and motivated to participate in intra-collegiate and inter- collegiate competitions

NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

  • The National Cadet Corps is into existence at the College since academic year 2012-13 and currently with 104 cadets.
  • Ever since inception, the college unit is giving ARMY training to the students.
  • The unit has undertaken many social service activities over the years

NSS in our Pre-University college.

National Service Scheme (NSS) aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development of the students through community service. NSS Day was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes & activities.

NSS attempts to establish meaningful linkages between:

  • Campus and Community
  • College and Villages
  • knowledge and action

Activities

  • Tree Plantation
  • Work in welfare institutions
  • Adult and non-formal education
  • Health, nutrition, family welfare, AIDS awareness campaigns

NATIONAL GREEN CORPS (NGC)

AN INDIGENOUSLY STUDENT RUN ENVIRONMENT CLUB

  • This club was founded with the intention of creating environment awareness amongst students.
  • Various environment-related programmes were conducted such as
  • Planting saplings
  • Inter-class competitions
  • Anti-Tobacco awareness programmes
  • Guest Lectures were given on all forms of pollution
  • Campus turned into a plastic-free zone
